The formation of the Armenian Armed Forces closely coincides with the events of 1988 to 1994, including Armenia’s declaration of Independence from the Soviet Union, and Azerbaijan’s leadership’s conspicuous aggression towards Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic as well as its own Armenian citizens in Sumgait and Baku. These events lead to the realization that there was an urgent necessity for the formation of Armenia’s own national armed forces which was to become the main guarantor of the Armenia’s and Artsakh’s borders, as well as to guarantee the security of the people of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh. Glendale, CA - On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the Glendale City Council, with a four to zero vote approved Unified Young Armenians’ request of renaming the two blocks of Maryland Avenue into Artsakh Avenue, thereby making the Community’s dream, a reality. In a historic vote, Mayor Zareh Sinanyan, Councilman Vartan Gharpetian, Councilman Ara Najarian, and Councilman Vrej Agajanian voted in favor of approving the measure establishing Artsakh Avenue, the first and only Armenian themed street, while Councilwoman Paula Devine abstained from voting. LOS ANGELES, CA - On Monday, April 24, 2017, a day which marks the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Unified Young Armenians (UYA) will once again organize the largest Armenian Genocide commemoration event outside the Republic of Armenia. Just as in the decade past, the Hollywood, California March for Justice will serve as one of the key focal points for raising awareness for the Armenian Genocide, Assyrian Genocide (Sayfo or Seyfo), the Greek Genocide (Pontic Genocide), as well as the modern-day plight of the freedom-loving people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic. Just as every year, the March for Justice will begin at 10:00 am at the Armenian Genocide Martyr’s Square at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue, in City of Los Angeles. «Մանչեսթեր Յունայթեդը» հաղթահարելով Եվրոպայի լիգայի 1/16 եզրափակիչ փուլի արգելքը՝ հաղթանակ տարավ  ֆրանսիական «Սենթ Էտյենի» նկատմամբ։ Ավելի վաղ, սեփական հարկի տակ «կարմիր սատանաները» հաղթանակ էին տարել  3։0 հաշվով, իսկ «Ժեֆրուա Գիշար» մարզադաշտում կայացած խաղն ավարտվեց 0։1 հաշվով։ Խաղի  16-րդ րոպեին միակ գոլի հեղինակ դարձավ Հայաստանի ֆուտբոլի ազգային հավաքականի ավագ Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը։ Խաղի 25-րդ րոպեին վնասվածքի պատճառով Մխիթարյանը փոխարինվեց։

Դեկտեմբերի 21-ին պաշտոնական այցով Հայաստան է ժամանել Իրանի նախագահ Հասան Ռոհանին: «Զվարթնոց» օդանավակայանում տեղի է ունեցել նախագահի դիմավորման պաշտոնական արարողությունը։ Այսօր, իրանա-թուրքականհարաբերություններում առկա լարվածությունը (կապված սիրիական ճգնաժամի հետ) ինչպես նաև  իրանա-ադրբեջանական խնդրահարույց հարաբերությունները (պայմանավորված Ադրբեջանի սերտացող  համագործակցությամբ Իսրաելի հետ), նպաստում են Հայաստանի դերի էլ ավելի  արժևորմանը։  Continue reading
